I checked the Twitter and Facebook for the library.

I also read some more of War Factory.  The alien prador are a kingdom, the human and AI group are a polity. The main characters are renegades from both the prador and the polity.  They are humans and aliens who don't follow the rules.

I ordered some new books today.

I checked the library Twitter and Facebook this morning.

I also finished reading Sepp Holzer's Permaculture A Practical Guide to Integrative Farming and Gardening.  I enjoyed reading this.  There were lots of illustrations and photographs with flowers, trees, fruit, and farm animals.  It is very much about using methods of farming that are more integrated with nature.  The authors describes a variety of different pest control methods that are natural, as well as examples of gardening that can be used in city communities.  He is very much writing about how to be more in touch with nature and ecology.  I found it to be a relaxing read.

I checked the gift books and the displays this morning.

I took a look at Evanced today which is the system for the Adult Summer Reading signup as well as the design for raffle tickets.  We spent some time discussing getting an acrylic cup as a giveaway.

I also did a little bit of weeding.

I read some dark space opera today, War Factory Transformation Book Two by Neil Asher.  The aliens in this story are the cruel, crablike Prador.  There are also rogue AIs with unpredictable, menacing behavior.

I checked the Twitter and Facebook for the library.

On the way to work, I read some of Sepp Holzer's Permaculture A Practical Guide to Small-Scale Integrative Farming and Gardening by Sepp Holzer.  This is about integrated organic farming designed to be built into the natural landscape.  It has coverage of heirloom trees, raised bed gardening, polyculture, and breeding of livestock like yaks, bison, hogs, geese and other animals.  I find it interesting.  It has an ecological perspective.

I checked the gift books and the displays.  I did a little bit of weeding.

We had a meeting to discuss the new ADP time management system.

I worked a little bit with scheduling.

There is a class tonight on Email and Gmail from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..

The 2016 Adult Summer Reading club is called Exercise Your Mind.  I am reading the manual for the program.

I checked the libraries Twitter and Facebook this morning.

On the way to work, I read some more of The Anatomy of Inequality.  I am reading about the relationship between religion and inequality.  In Hinduism there is the caste system created by the Laws of Manu, in Christianity and Judaism there is the story of The Curse of Ham which is often used to justify slavery or serfdom, and in Islam there is the idea that people who are not Muslim can be enslaved.

I checked the gift books and the displays today.

I also did some work with the Bookletters.  I put in a list of new DVDS.

I also did a little bit of work on weeding.

The theme for adult summer reading is Exercise Your Mind Read!  We discussed a number of programs for summer reading including a memory master, word games night, a spades tournament, and showing  a few films like a Thomas Paine film from PBS. We are also planning some giveaways like a totebag and pens.

I also spent some time talking about future computer classes. Our computer technician is planning on doing some classes for Scratch, the 3D Printer, Google Nik photography software which is now free, and Minecraft.

There is an Intermediate HTML and CSS class tonight from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

I took a couple days to relax away from library things.

On the way to work, I read some of Grunt  The Curious Science of Humans at War by Mary Roach.  This book is a purposeful grossout.  The author describes human injuries like losing ones private parts and having them replaced, diarrhea as a major killer of soldiers, sweating and heat stroke in the military and many other subjects.  It is aimed at peakings ones curiosity.  There is also a section on shark repellent as well as malodorants in combat.  The grossness is gripping.

I checked the displays and the gift books.

I also checked the Facebook and Twitter for the library.

I spent some time working on weeding.  I also did a little work preparing for next weeks order for books.  I read the latest copy of the Times Literary Supplement.

I spent a little time working on Bookletters.

I also talked to some of my reports about helping people and paying attention.

There is a Beginning Microsoft Word class tonight and a Fundamentals of Computers class as well in the computer lab.

I finished reading Grunt on the way home.  One of the final sections was on sleep deprivation and being on a combat submarine.  Mary Roach describes how people lose competence and focus with increasing sleep deprivation.  The book had a bibliography, but no index.
