Still Life With Gingerpot 2, Piet Mondrian, 1912

Daily Thoughts 11/06/2014

On the way to work, I read some more of Bathing the Lion.  The book has moved sideways into the space where people dream and remember things like red elephants, netsuke that grow to human size and have big meals, and maps of the stars.  The writing has become a bit surreal and otherworldly.  Some people are aliens in their past lives which allows a kind of star travel.  The world is shifting in the novel to odd places.  Jonathan Carroll is superb at writing this way, he has won the World Fantasy Award.  Despite the oddness, the writing has a literary quality to it.

I checked the Twitter and Facebook for the library.  I also checked the gifts and the displays.  I am working with the oversize books so I can create more space for shifting the 900s.

Next week we are going to meet to discuss grants.

I went and looked at the setup for the Friends of the Library Book and Bake Sale which is tomorrow.  It should be a nice thing for our patrons.

Today has been a quiet day.

There is a Social Media class in the Computer Lab today from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Not sure why I chose this, but it is not about libraries or books.
