Daily Thoughts 06/10/2016

I checked the library Twitter and Facebook this morning.

On the way to work, I read some more of  The Industries of the Future.  I am reading about cyberwar and cybersecurity for both government and corporation.

I checked the displays and the gift books.

We ordered some acrylic cups with our logo as one of the prizes for adult summer reading.

There was a meeting today to discuss getting new scanners for the Mount Vernon Public Library.  We are going to be testing out a Scannex scanner for a month.  We also attended a webinar by KIC http://www.dlsg.com/kic-click.html about scanners.  We are also looking at the Fujitsu Document Scanner Scan Snap SV600 http://scanners.fcpa.fujitsu.com/scansnap11/features_sv600.html?&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyum6BRDQ-9jU4PSVxf8BEiQAu1AHqjwwMuCvsK22plarmEAPFzy_zU5dWvNRdmG8U-i1zqQaAlUr8P8HAQ&cshift_ck=4601a117-4c23-49b7-9be1-98e1984e67bfcsDipxG6q2 which is quite affordable compared to the other scanners.  We also discussed the Scanpro i9300 which scans microfilm and converts it to digital files. http://www.e-imagedata.com/ScanProi9300_Overview.html

I spent some time going over issues with the public computers and the computer lab.  We should be getting some new computers very soon for adults, children, and young adults.

We have a few more computer classes in the evenings this summer.
