Clay Tablet, Precuneiform Writing, 4th Millenium BC
Daily Thoughts 08/24/2019
I checked the library Twitter and Facebook this morning.
I read a portion of Ancient Libraries by James Westfall Thompson. There is a bit on the ancient library catalog at the Temple of Edfu in Egypt. The catalog exists, but none of the papyrus documents exist. I also read some of The Library an Illustrated History by A.P. Murray. There is information on the Library at Ebla which is from 2500 b.c. as well as the Royal Library at Ashurbanipal. These are the first libraries.
