Daily Thoughts 07/28/2018

I checked the library Twitter and Facebook today.

I also checked the gift books and the displays.

We had a professor, Mel Glazer who did a lyrics writing workshop in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the community room.

On the way home, I finished reading The Soviet Space Program First Steps: 1941-1953 by Eberhard Rodel.  The book ends with the making of the Soviet R-2 rocket which is the first soviet rocket to house nuclear weapons.  This book showed how a lot of the space program was military in nature.  It also demonstrated that much of the cold war between the United States and the Soviet Union was tied in with the conflict over captured nazi rocketry.
