Superman - 1941 - Max Fleischer's First Superman Cartoon

The Fleischer Studio superman cartoons are in the public domain which is quite interesting. They are a lot of fun to watch.

These are amazing, aren't they? We have a lot of them on DVD and watch them regularly.

I don't know if you've ever watched Batman: The Animated Series from the '90s, but Bruce Timm was heavily influenced by Fleischer's style. It's great stuff.

Thanks for stopping by Geek Parenting! Speaking of comic books and librarians, one of my fave comic book heroes is Batgirl/Oracle (aka Barbara Gordon). She was a librarian and the ALA sells this awesome poster of her!

I am not sure about Batman. I watched some of his animated stuff on video. I don't watch much television, I usually use my television set to play videos and dvds. We have to have cable to pick up any local tv stations so we don't bother getting it.

For awhile there was a new batman cartoon series with Bruce Wayne training him. Barbara Gordon was the new police commissioner.

I got the Max Fleischer Superman dvd at Walgreens for $3. There are 17 of the shorts which were made. They are really amazing to watch. If you get a chance, pick them up, they are a true bargain.
