Still Life With Checked Tablecloth, Juan Gris, 1915
Daily Thoughts 10/18/2017
I checked the Twitter and Facebook for the library this morning.
I also read some more of Antifa The Anti-Fascist Handbook last night. The author, Mark Bray is describing the Golden Dawn fascists in Greece, the recent rise of fascism in France, and how it is related to economic austerity measures, fear of immigration, and fear of Islam. There is also some material on the alt-right.
I checked the displays and the gift books this morning.
This morning one the way to work, I read some of No Dream is Too High Life Lessons From a Man Who Walked on the Moon by Buzz Aldrin with Ken Abraham. Part of the book is about goal setting and knowing when to work with other people.
In addition, I checked out the book, Endurance A Year In Space, A Lifetime of Discovery by Sott Kelly.
I have two copies of Booklist to read.
We had a meeting this morning to discuss signage and what we planned to do for signage. Part of it was about style and how the signs around the building looked. There is quite a bit that needs to be done. We are getting a number of doors replaced soon.
We had our last Day of the Dead papercrafts session today. It was enjoyable. We made dancing skeletons out of paper from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. today.
There is a computer class tonight for HTML 5 and CSS 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the computer lab.
We did our first order for unique games from Peachstate Hobby Distribution today. I got quite a few interesting board games like Carcasonne and Pandemic. I went through Board In the Library Part 1 through 6 to do this.
