Daily Thoughts 06/19/2015

Daily Thoughts 06/19/2015

I checked the Twitter and Facebook for the library.

I also read some more of Data and Goliath on the way to work.  I am reading about the idea that soon all of our history will be under surveillance and people who observe us  will be able to check the record for what we might have done in the past with street video cameras, personal emails, and other electronic records.  There will be a permanent surveillance record.

In the morning we watched a video on Hoopla.  We also spent some time looking at the service as part of a management meeting.  We are getting Hoopla in July and are planning a marketing strategy for the service.  I like the quality of the comics that they are offering.

I prepared a schedule for next week for my department.  I also worked on a flyer for a graphic novels club.  We are going to read The Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis.

This afternoon, we had the kickoff for the Adult Summer Reading.  I signed people up for the adult  summer reading program.  We had a Flamenco guitarist Jason Hochman who is the founder of the New York Guitar Academy play as part of the opening for Adult Summer Reading.  http://www.nyguitaracademy.com/adult-beginner-classes.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw-46sBRD7x6P0stibwbsBEiQAoMi4Zmi-xIneHPeuaC9VarTNZ5gIMQLA-D1XVRkvaTUXqW4aAkqM8P8HAQ

Tomorrow we have Superhero Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m..  We are going to have some costumed heroes as part of a celebration for the Adult, Teen, and Children's Summer Reading Program.  It should be interesting.
